Troop 1785 is truly blessed to have a group of outstanding leaders with an extensive experience in scouting. Their credentials are awesome. Many of the senior leaders are involved with scouting because they truly love the work.

Michael Wangdahl

Mike grew up in Annapolis, Maryland, where he was a Cub Scout with Pack 771. Mike earned his Arrow of Light Award and then joined Boy Scout Troop 771 in 1984. He advanced through the ranks, becoming a member of the Order of the Arrow in 1988 and then earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 1991. Mike stayed with Troop 771 as an Assistant Scoutmaster, and in 1993 he helped lead an expedition to Philmont Scout Ranch.

After some time away, he reconnected with scouting in 2011 when his oldest son Nathan became a Tiger with Cub Scout Pack 412, and his son Jacob became a Tiger in 2013 with Cub Scout Pack 478, both in Pasadena, Maryland. His daughter Maddie is a Daisy with Girl Scout Troop 50. Mike is also currently a Committee Member and the Pack Treasurer with Cub Scout Pack 478.

Professionally, Mike is a Firefighter/EMT in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He believes that his desire to serve his community and help others was greatly influenced by his experiences in Scouting.
